When a politician appoints members to a panel to conduct independent research and analysis on an issue and present results, can you say such a panel is truly independent? It was the politician who appointed them, and it is the politician who can remove them if they should bring forward something he or she doesn’t like.
So when the information came forth that a certain expert advisory panel appointed by a Liberal Minister had sided with the government, I rolled my eyes and shrugged. As expected, they would stick with the government that employed them because it is with the Liberals that their loyalty lies. I won’t be surprised too if the members are leftists themselves.
