Mill Creek’s Renate Hargreaves remembered for her leadership and caring spirit
Mill Creek Motor Freight and the Kriska Transportation Group (KTG) are mourning the loss of Renate Hargreaves, the carrier’s longtime general manager, who passed away on Sept. 21.
Hargreaves joined Mill Creek in 1992 as vice-president of marketing, quickly establishing herself as a respected and no-nonsense leader in the transportation industry, KTG said in a news release. Over the years, she held several sales and operations roles, eventually becoming the general manager, a position she held through two changes in ownership, including the acquisition by KTG in 2014.
“Renate will be remembered by Mill Creek’s employees, vendors, and customers for her caring nature, sharp humor, and keen insights into the trucking business. She offered thoughtful mentorship and guidance and held everyone – including herself – to high standards. She was known to remember not only everyone’s name but also details about them and their families,” the release reads.
Outside of work, Hargreaves was devoted to her family – three children and three grandchildren.
Erb Group raises $35,000 at annual charity golf tournament, surpasses $585,000 in total donations
The Erb Group concluded its 31st Annual Charity Golf Tournament, raising $35,000 to support local non-profit organizations. Held at Rebel Creek Golf Club in Petersburg, Ont., the event brought together 150 golfers, including Erb’s suppliers, partners, employees, and representatives from supported charities, all united by the goal of giving back to the community.
This year’s contributions bring the tournament’s total donations to more than $585,000 since its launch in 1994. The funds raised will benefit the Wilmot Family Resource Centre, Interfaith Counselling Centre, and Tri-County Mennonite Homes – Aldaview Services, which provide vital services such as food security, mental health support, and community programs to families in need.
“To have reached a total of $585,000 in donations since the start of this tournament is a true testament to the power of our community and industry network. These funds directly impact local families, helping to build a stronger, healthier Wilmot,” said Wendell Erb, chief executive officer of The Erb Group.
