The twin spans of the Blue Water Bridges international crossing between the cities of Port Huron, Michigan and Sarnia, Ontario is one of the busiest border crossings between Canada and the United States.

The Government of Canada announced the extension of its border restrictions until at least September 30, including the mandatory vaccination requirement at the land border for all travellers entering the country, including truck drivers crossing the border.

A copy of the news release with further information is available here.

This decision comes after an announcement in June pausing mandatory vaccination requirements for most domestic and international air travellers, as well as the suspension of the mandatory vaccination requirement for employers in the federally regulated air, rail, and marine sectors.

CTA is reminding members that all travellers, including truck drivers, must continue to use ArriveCAN (free mobile app or website) to provide mandatory travel information within 72 hours before their arrival in Canada.

CTA will continue to update members as more changes are announced.

The Trucking Network is a Canadian “English and Punjabi” bilingual distribution, established in 2012. TTN’s magazine is published monthly and is designed to help anyone who is seeking trucking related, operates, services and maintains trucks and trailers.
